From humble beginnings in an old building grew an internationally renowned not-for-profit British Education brand that continues to thrive.
A place to start
The school opened in 1963 in the upstairs room of a villa where expatriate workers were housed.
A new home
DESS moved to its present site as the old land was needed for building the dry docks.
Beginning to thrive
Our secondary school, DESC, was established to offer a British education up to Year 13.
Coming Together
DESS and DESC join to provide a seamless 3-18 British education.
Building for Tomorrow
Our new primary school, DESS Academic City, will open in September 2025.
